DJ Sammy Rock, aka, Soul Oasis, hails from the Boogie Down Bronx and is highly respected for the integral role that he played in the evolution of dance music within the New York City nightclub scene.
Sammy Rock emerged on the club horizon in the early eighties, spinning diverse sets blending, Disco, Salsa, and Freestyle grooves at various Bronx prominent nightclubs including the celebrated Chez Sensual, Peoples, Pieces, and many infamous Latin Hip Hop hot spots across New York City.
During the 2007 Winter Music Conference, Sammy Rock spun his unique style of blending vocals and harmonies at the “Back To My Roots” party featuring Joey Madonia and legendary DJ Kenny Carpenter, one of the forefathers of the dance music movement, as well as, the 15-hour dance marathon (Room 2 of the venue) for the 16th Anniversary party of “The Shelter”, the longest-running Underground House NYC party NYC featuring veteran DJ, Timmy Regisford and guest Deejays. Sammy Rock has received international acclaim as owner and founder of his award-winning Internet radio station Cyberjamz; the cutting-edge web network that specializes in underground dance music that launched in October 2004.One of the first internet radio stations catering to underground dance music and many other genres.

In 2007, this multitalented artist launched Cyberjamz Records, which showcases tracks and releases from various artists, which Sammy Rock has arranged and co-produced with other talented vocalists and producers. Here is a part of history I think folks forgot about or just don’t know or care.
When Traxsource was first online back in 2004 or so, everybody and their momma didn’t like them nor wanted their labels on their site. Why?? because just like Cyberjamz Radio (circa 2003), nobody saw the potential or power of the internet. It took a year or two for folks to buy into the idea of having their music and labels up on their site until our labels decided to go that route. Folks didn’t see the internet as the future of things. It was also the start of the MP3 revolution, I remember when a file cost $3.99, and over the years that price dropped to $2.99 for a Promo and $1.99 per release. Those were the good days of Traxsource, as most of us who were there from the start made most of our money.
Here is a part of Traxsource history that most don’t know or refuse to acknowledge. Cyberjamz Radio was there from the start by providing them a platform to showcase their weekly shows which aired every Thursday from 10am – 12pm for ten years, yes 10 years! Every single Thursday except for a few shows I couldn’t air
due to tech issues since the internet was still fairly new, but every week I had to sit at my desk and run their two-hour shows by turning the encoder on and turning it off for the next music programmer. Even during the WMC (Winter Music Conference), I had to sit here and make sure that their show ran all the hits of the week before the weekend in Miami. All the while, I lost my relationship with the mother of my children (due to my overworking) and the commitment made to running Cyberjamz Radio, making it a part of my life. I lost a lot of personal people and things in my life during the years. All the work that went into promoting and making sure the music we love was at the forefront of it all.
I still have all their shows here on CDR and often wonder why I never got a thank you from them, not anything. Those who truly know me, know I never expect anything in return from anyone as I’ve always been the one to help and create for others. There is a reason why I’m writing this today and when my tell-all book drops, I would hope you guys can read it. I dedicated an entire chapter to the Traxsource. Did you know I was going to open up or had the same idea? For those that remember, it was called Tracks-Online. I didn’t pursue it due to having my hands full with Cyberjamz.
